Happy Day card

Hello fellow crafters.  Today I wanted to share my latest card.  I was going through my paper and found a Cosmo Cricket pack I've had - the Pixilicious collection.  This kit was included in a package I won.  This collection is not my style...I'm not really into fairies...and it is a bit bright for, needless to say this kit is barely touched.  But, I thought I would challenge myself and try to use some of it.  I kept it simple, of course.

I found a new love in my craft room - grid washi tape!!!  I used the tape on the top and bottom to help add balance.  It was a wide tape, so I just cut it to get the two different widths for my card.  Since it is a bit transparent, it is subtle against the kraft card base.  I've done this layout of a card before - I think this is one my of "go-to" card sketches when I'm in a hurry or don't know what else to do.
I used my new label die to cut out the image.  I also added diamond stickles to the flower buds...I think that's what they are called.  Combining a classic simple sketch with new products makes for a new look - I like it.
Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Simple is always good. I like it, too, though it wouldn't have been a go-to paper for me either. I need to challenge myself to use a butterfly stamp a friend gave me. Am I the only one who's tired of butterflies? ;-)

  2. Lucy, I'm with you - in need of a butterfly break. =)
