My latest 8x8 layout. When I first sketched this layout it was bare and I didn't like it - which was hard since this is one of my favorite photos of me and my hubby. I was inspired to use strips of scraps to add color and visual interest - but when I put it down on the layout, I thought it was dull and clashed with the photo. So I continued to think of my title...and then I watched a few more inspiring scrapbooking videos on You Tube...and got some inspiration to add my embellishments. The title and large heart are die cuts from Stampin' Up! Also the scallop rectangle is also a die cut from Stampin' Up! on the Newsprint designer paper. I used my distress kit ink, mahogony, to distress the edges of the designer paper, the outline of the layout, and the hearts. The small hearts are actually a small heart that came from a mini stamp set from Hero Arts. I stamped them on cherry cobbler cardstock and popped them up with dimensionals. Of course, to add some sparkle, I added rhinestones to the heart accents. Now at the end of the layout I am very happy with how it turned out and how I was able to use scraps and pops of color on a monotone photo.
Happy scrapping!
I love it! It has the perfect amount of embellishments! Thanks for sharing!! :)
