Hybrid Baby Invitation

This was an invitation I had to 'whip up' in a short time frame.  I had to make 30 of them, so hybrid was the way to go.  I use My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up!  I download free fonts from Kevin and Amanda - check out there link on the side bar of my blog.  I also am trying to get more free fonts from Creative Keepsakes - each Friday is a new font you can download for free.  I love how they share these things freely.
Anyway, for the invitation, it is a postcard style.  I designed the layout with just the text and the two buttons on an 8 1/2" x 11" format.  Then put two on one sheet, so when I print it I would save paper.  Of course, I printed first on some scratch paper to ensure I had the right size and enough space between the two to get two die cuts.  The scallop square die is clear, so I was able to line up the text in the die perfectly before I ran it through the Big Shot.
Since the theme for the baby is monkeys, I had a monkey stamp from Sandylion.  I stamped it in early espresso, then used chalk to color them in.  Chalk is the fastest way for me to color and get a soft look - easy and quick for mass production.  I then had to cut out the monkey heads - this was the most time consuming part of the entire process.  After they were cut, it was simple to punch out two circles, one in designer paper and the other in baja breeze cardstock.  Layer them all and then adhere them to the invitation.  I purposely kept the items off the bottom edge, as this was my design intent for visual interest.
Simple design, but cute result for a new baby.  =)  Happy creating!
